What is Euthanasia, Its history, Its origin

The word 'Euthanasia' comes from combining 2 Greek words "EU" meaning GOOD and "thanatos" meaning DEATH . So it literally means "good death'

Death in all cases is not painless. Deaths which are caused intentionally are known as EUTHANASIA.

Euthanasia happens when the doctor or someone else intentionally gives you death. Euthanasia is not when you wilfully don't allow  doctors to treat your illness.

The definition is more clear through an example :
A person is suffering from cancer and he/she wilfully don't want to go for chemotherapy and as a result of improper  treatment the person died, this is not EUTHANASIA

Euthanasia will be when despite of best treatment given a person suffers pain and is in pitiable condition and as a result of this doctor or someone else gives him/her death but only when patient gives up and wants death.

One should always remember:
"NOBODY IS AGAINST ELIMINATING THE PAIN WHEN PATIENT IS DYING. BUT EVERYONE SHOULD BE AGAINST KILLING THE PATIENT AS MEANS OF ELIMINATING PAIN"
