Euthanasia- A murder or saviour?
Euthanasia - KILLING or CARING ?
"Euthanasia" a word that always excites me and makes me more inquisitive . If you ask my viewpoints on this topic that whether or not it should be legalised I will give you a diplomatic answer by saying may or may not. My answer will be dependent on intensity of the case.
Talking about my personal experience that forced me to admit that euthanasia should be legalised is as follows:
There lived an old lady just next to my place, in India. She lives with her son and daughter in law. She was completely perfect in the morning. She slept well, had her medicines, there was nurse appointed for her, who took care of her and used to clean her everyday. Her condition was not fine but was bearable till 2 months. After the death of her husband, that is after 2 months her health deteriorated and living became miserable every passing day. She was shifted to a room, where her hands and legs were tied and her room remained locked. That day everything went perfectly alright, but in the night I heard horrible noises of that lady who was in a lot of pain. She kept screaming in pain and her pain was pretty much expressive in her voice. A few days back I came to know from my parents that the lady had died. She died a natural death though.
So, if on human grounds I have to take a decision, I would rather say LET HER DIE. But talking on legal grounds and looking at fundamental rights " EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO LIVE" contrary to this
"A PEACEFUL DEATH IS EVERYBODY'S RIGHT"
So, euthanasia should be legalised only in cases where there is no other way out to cure the patient and if the patient cannot be relieved of the pain, and should be legalised in cases where there is no alternative other than DEATH.
Talking about animal euthanasia I would say the same thing. Animals should be euthanised in cases where there is no alternative left. Euthanising an animal just because they are homeless and unwanted is inhumane.
No doubt doctors are considered as second God . But at the same time they have no right to kill without trying their best. They have no right to take away someone's RIGHT TO LIVE. Only in exceptional cases where death is the best possible option doctors can chose to take life support systems off so that the diseased won't have to suffer further more. But other than such cases doctors have no right on mercy killing.
Laws on euthanasia or mercy killing are not that strong enough, only in rarest of rare cases court accepts the Plea of mercy killing.
So , I would rather say NO to EUTHANASIA and justify my point by saying that THIS LIFE IS ONLY ONCE GRANTED, LIVE TO THE FULLEST, IT'S WORTH LIVING AND PRECIOUS THOUGH.
It's very well said :

It's very well said :
"Life is not a bed of roses .It is undergrowth of thorns, roses smell delicious while thorns pricks like scythe of lawns"
Animal Euthanasia - humane or inhumane?
ANIMAL EUTHANASIA - SO INHUMANE
Animal Euthanasia is so very common these days. Specific laws do not exist for the same. But we humans, kill animals recklessly. Just because they are animals who cannot express their feelings or pain, we do not have the right to take their life away. We need to remind ourselves that we too are mammals "HOMO SAPIENS"
People kill animals just because of no reason some selfish, foolish reasons. Stray animals are more in target. In the guidelines on EUTHANASIA LAW it should be made compulsion that an animal shouldn't be euthanasied unless it is suffering. Euthanasing an animal which has done nothing wrong should be considered as crime equal to murder. Killing animals, calling them unwanted is so very stupid and unkind.
So, if we do not have right to kill an unwanted prisoner we do not have the right to kill an unwanted animal as well.
SAD REALITY
laws in india
EUTHANASIA - Laws in INDIA
Euthanasia is known as mercy killing in India. There usually exist 2 types of Euthanasia in India .
- ACTIVE EUTHANASIA
- PASSIVE EUTHANASIA
Active euthanasia is not at all acceptable in India. While laws in India are still in progress regarding passive euthanasia.
Active euthanasia remains a crime under SEC-302 (murder) or 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder ) of the Indian Penal Code.
PASSIVE EUTHANASIA IN INDIA
In Indian, the court's guidelines will restrict use of the practise to only extreme cases. The guidelines are legally binding until parliament passes law on the practise.
There still exist paper laws on Euthanasia in India. There are guidelines which people have to accept unless there is proper law on Euthanasia :-
The guideline stipulate that Passive Euthanasia will be allowed for patients who are in permanent vegetative states when family members request it, and courts and doctors approve it.
Laws around Canada for euthanasia
EUTHANASIA- Laws in CANADA
In Canada as in Australia, UK, and New Zealand suicide is legal but assisted suicide is illegal and voluntary euthanasia is illegal.
As with all legislations of this nature, there are built in safeguards. The person requesting assistance must be at least 18 year old and have continued to "experience severe physical or mental pain without any prospect of relief" after being given or refusing treatment.
A terminal diagnosis is also considered grounds for a request for assistance to die.In this regard C-384 is designed to ensure that doctors who help a person to die don't face a criminal prosecution.
Prior to this current PRIVATE MEMBER'S BILL, LALONDE introduced 2 bills earlier :
The first is June 2005 (BILL C-407) and the second is June 2008 (BILL C-562) aimed at legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada.
What is Euthanasia, Its history, Its origin
The word 'Euthanasia' comes from combining 2 Greek words "EU" meaning GOOD and "thanatos" meaning DEATH . So it literally means "good death'
Death in all cases is not painless. Deaths which are caused intentionally are known as EUTHANASIA.
Euthanasia happens when the doctor or someone else intentionally gives you death. Euthanasia is not when you wilfully don't allow doctors to treat your illness.
The definition is more clear through an example :
A person is suffering from cancer and he/she wilfully don't want to go for chemotherapy and as a result of improper treatment the person died, this is not EUTHANASIA
Euthanasia will be when despite of best treatment given a person suffers pain and is in pitiable condition and as a result of this doctor or someone else gives him/her death but only when patient gives up and wants death.
One should always remember:
"NOBODY IS AGAINST ELIMINATING THE PAIN WHEN PATIENT IS DYING. BUT EVERYONE SHOULD BE AGAINST KILLING THE PATIENT AS MEANS OF ELIMINATING PAIN"
